John Franklin Ferguson was born at Williamstown on April 1859. John Franklin Ferguson became Captain of a paddleboat which plied the Darling River. He married Frederica Adelaide Ernestine Toy in 1895 at Parkes, New South Wales, where they had 3 children, two sons and one daughter. Later the family moved to New Zealand where their fourth child, a son was born. John died in May 1932 in Christchurch, New Zealand.
